    What is Sanera Camp?

    P2670

I had the great pleasure to attend Sanera Camp recently and thought I'd share with you. A business "boot camp" run by Alicia Arenas, Sanera Camp isn't your average "let's help you grow your business" type course.

First, you have to apply to get in. While that may sound scary at first, there is good reason. Alicia wants to coach people who are ready to take their business to the next level. She's looked for attitude and willingness to break free from some of the habits that hold us back. She wants to know what makes you tick (she should be a psychologist) and know what buttons to push to get you to break through your humdrum cycles.

The course itself isn't a walk in the park. You have to commit to "kick fear in the teeth" (as local lawyer and SC5 graduate put it). There's homework and it's not fill in the blank stuff. You have to really dive deep and think through it. As each week unfolds, the relationships between each set of homework becomes clearer and you find yourself thinking differently. I had quite the "lightbulb over the head" moment personally and saw my business in a whole new light.

Upon graduation, you find something else - a new set if friends and partners. People who know your business intimately and are willing to give you insight and ideas. The photo above is my SC5 class (minus a few who were unable to make it) at Dough Pizzeria doing our first post-graduation mastermind luncheon. Not only did I walk away with a belly full of the best pizza, but I walked away encouraged and full of ideas. Creative thinking entrepreneurs, each with a different set of skills and viewpoints, who come together for fun, ideas, and accountability. That alone is worth the price of admission.

And let's not forget Alicia herself - the brains behind the whole operation. Her encouragement, knowledge, and true passion for helping small businesses excel is what got us all to that lunch. Definitely someone you should get to know in San Antonio. A phone call with her can literally take you from a dull day to one full of ideas and opportunities.

SC6 is currently in full swing and I look forward to meeting the class and seeing how they're doing. I know they'll walk away with a new perspective on their business and find new ways to excel.

A new camp will start in the fall, but in the meantime, learn more:
